Ene.forest will be the third infrastructure project of Ene.National Energy Museum. It comprises an indoor botanical garden – a living space of some 1,000 square metres. It will recreate a number of ecosystems similar to those that existed on the Iberian Peninsula 300 million years ago during the period when today’s coal seams were formed. Ene.forest will recreate a time when the landmass that is today the Iberian Peninsula was tropical, with a permanently warm and humid climate.
For this infrastructure project, the construction of a natural permeable dome has been planned. This dome’s aesthetics will permit the integration of the landscape and a pleasant and recreational use of the Museum environment. Ene.forest will be accessed by descending via natural pathways to the lowest point of the construction. There we will find a passageway giving access to Ene.forest, illuminated from within the folds of the earth. Upon entering this passageway, one begins a trip through time.
The launch of this project will take place in 2013.
