The Energy in your life, the Energy in Nature and the Heads and Tails of Energy: Ene.central

Centred in the model of the consumer society, the first exhibit is known as “Energy in Your Life.” In it, we find a framing of human progress based on the mastery of energy. One also discovers that mankind utilizes energy for its own survival, searching for the greatest utility and efficiency for its benefit and welfare. This is something that has consequences for growth of complexity in mankind’s environment.

The second exhibit is known as “Energy in Nature.” Everything in it revolves around the different sources of energy in and on our planet. The Sun is the star that makes life possible and is the indisputable main force of this infrastructure. Nearly all life on Earth depends on the transformation of light energy into chemical energy via photosynthesis, which is deserving of the foreground of the exhibit. Also, we find in the exhibit the attainment of other sources of energy such as fossil fuels or energy from radioactive minerals – to sum up, the internal energy of the planet resulting from its origin.

In the third exhibit, entitled “Heads and Tails of Energy,” the benefits, consequences, and impacts of this model of development are discussed, as well as the new element of our time: climate change, with its global impact. This exhibit also raises the question of whether an alternative model exists that could reduce climate change or if we could, in some way, minimise it, through the development of new technologies and a change in the values of society as a whole.
